Aerelink have been involved in a pioneering Traffic Management CCTV Project in the City of Newcastle. The 5.8Ghz Alvarion VL Point-to-Multipoint system allows 30 camera locations to communicate with multiple base stations covering the City Centre, Great North Road and North East Corridor. The network is used for traffic flow monitoring around the city, enabling Council Officers to update matrix signs advising commuters on the traffic conditions into and out of the City.
